With the poor weather forecast, there was no hope of doing the meets list trip of Rat Hole. No one was keen to walk up to Gaping Gill either. So we ended up with two trips in Gavel and one in It's A Cracker.
Apparently the It's A Cracker trip was a bit damp and cleaned their oversuits really well.
Ros, Lynn, Paul & Dave went straight to Gavel Pot where I rigged the entrance and the traverse into Short Drop. We then rigged the other two pitches down to Glasfurd's Passage and went to look at the newly opened section of passage.
Charlotte, Ellie & Josh entered via Short Drop, rigged the pitch as a pull through and derigged the traverse into Gavel. They met us as we were leaving Glasfurd's Passage. They said the route through from Short Drop was a bit damp and they wouldn't want to do it with much more water! They had a look at the old section as well as the recently opened section before heading out.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
