After a late start due to Simon dragging me kicking and screaming to the Bradford for a party we set out to do Duke street 2 in Ireby Fell Cavern.

Dave said we would do Bubble route to the bottom as it had been pre rigged and I had not done this route before and hopefully someone else would have rigged Ding, Dong and Bell for the retreat, After reaching Duke Street and bumping into Ann and a few more went along to the down stream sump. We climbed up the rope and the crawl began, it actually starts very pleasantly and goes down hill for a tall person (very good effort to the diggers). We popped out and went to the upstream sump in Duke Street 2 then we made our way to Freak Chamber (think, tink, thrink, I think it was Freak) a very nice chamber and a well decorated bit of passage.

We then retraced our steps and de-rigged Ding, Dong and Bell; luckily Dave gave me a lift to the dinner.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
