Bit of a poor turnout for a club trip, but at least some of us made the effort. After a cold walk up we were soon at the Mere entrance, once rigged, we were all soon underground where it was a bit warmer out of the elements. The 4 of us were soon down to 3, as Charles decided to turn round at the start of the second pitch and make his way out as he was'nt feeling to well.
So the remaining 3 of us carried on, once down all the pitches, which were all quite dry as the water levels were very low. All that was left then was a quick blast down to the sump before turning round and making our way back out. Then it was just the pleasure of the freezing cold walk back to the cars
Trip time 4hrs
Stu Anderson, Sam Clifford, Keith Mason

Cheers Keith, beat me to the effort of writing a trip report. Only to add; yeap was cold enough that after waiting at the pitch head the opportunity of going down to the mere and prussiking back to warm up was taken (alothough never took the tackle sack with me). Cheers to all, that made it for a very good yet cold (when not caving) trip.

Sam - Another New years resolution already ticked off - do more YSS trips! :woohoo:

Ian and Mark went to Sell Gill I think. Didn't think they were fit enough to go t Black Shiver since I wasn't going to be there to bring the fitness levels down some more.

2010 is only 50 weekends away.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
