Saturday saw Neil and myself tag onto a permit of Newcastle Uni's to do Robinsons pot with Graham and Sam.
The most unlikely place for an entrance is under someones house wall - and this shaft is literally directly beneath the kitchen wall of Darnbrook house. And the reason why only 3 permits are issued a year!
A good look around was had but due to high water levels (& mindful of last weeks incidents) we only had a quick furtle about beyond the bit that sumps off, and returning against the flow with ear in the water and helmet scraping the roof was only just do-able!
After coming out to a quite fine day we decided to have a wander up to Cherry Tree hole and drop in there for a look - I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice the streamway is and after a couple of hours exploring realised we better go because a committe meeting was becoming imminant.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
