Swildons Hole was rather wet on Wednesday due to it raining non stop all day. As we walked from the Wessex cave club across the fields we were imagining how wet it might be, ‘may be top pipe'? We were not disappointed as it was about 10 inches above the man hole cover (is that politically correct) inside the block house. As we entered down through the man hole a river was running through the cave and down Jacobs ladder, we could not get any further than the 40 due to the water level and proceeded out via wet way but lavatory pan filled to the roof as you got in the pool just before. So went out long dry and had a look at lavatory pan from the top end, very wet.
A brilliant trip with the floor moving beneath your feet.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
