Something of the blind leading the partially sighted: nobody knew anything about the cave beyond the rigging topo, and even this was full of unanswered questions regarding rope lengths. We took too much.......
We began as a group of five which after an uncomfortable squeeze where some SRT kits were removed , and a slightly awkward pitch head, we dropped to three. The two flakers missed the best bits, ie. the big clean pitch and the delightfully warm wet crawl.
This led to some nice features and a 'terminal ' chamber and 'sump'. This apparent dead end was where we turned back, but subsequent reading of the guidebooks proved that we had only reached Dolphin Passage and that after the (very) limited airspace crawl there is much more caving to be had.
This means that we all need to go back for a take two........sorry guys! There is even an 11m VS rock climb to do........which seems excessive for such a committing location !! All very intriguing
