A lovely tip into a infrequently visited area by the YSS, Upper Nidderdale is a must on any real cavers 'to do list'. El P has not visited this cave in any of his 56 years...so 2020 was the year to put all those mistakes to rest. An email , to Damian and and interest from Paul Magson and the trip was ON. A big entrance 5 mins from the car and into big passage with a lively stream...wonderful and beautiful clearly imprinted on the synapses in the cerbellum. We followed a round trip, skillfully led by Damian, including large passage , small passage, crawls, sqeezes , not too tight, even for the old man (El P), some very intersting rope climbs and descents, the odd canal and labrynth and some absolutely far out passage conaining the largest and most concentrated number of chert nodules (per m2) the President has ever seen, absolutley wonderful. A great cave and a great team, thank you for a great day in a superb pothole.
