The new blood of the YSS have now decided to have crack at the big one and through Rob Dalby the ball was set rolling to descend the Berger in 2006.
It seemed logical to have a leader who had been before so Colin Gray was volunteered out of retirement to do what he had done three times before and organise the expedition.
The first job was to apply for a permit which on the last three occasions Colin has used the services of an old friend and ex member of the YSS, Mick Jordan, who lives and works in Paris. It looks like we should be OK for the first two weeks in August 2006,which will be confirmed on the 2 Nov this year. (we owe a big thank you to Mick who was incidentally at the 40th. reunion).
The trip is now definitely on and bookings are now being taken with over 30 already signed up.
Costs are likely to be (before any money that may possibly be donated by the YSS is taken into consideration)

YSS transport and caving --- £220
